Yobo Yo is the eldest of his siblings, Opso, Popo and Mogo. As an artist, he loves to paint, deconstruct and rebuild anything he can get his hands on. He also likes to create costumes for his family and friends. The more fantastical, the better.
Yobo loves it when his pet dragon, Deeogee, gets fired up. Together, they are a perfect balance of destruction and creation.
Opso Yo is a space nerd and has dreams of going to Space Camp and ultimately becoming an astronaut, despite being claustrophobic. Her favorite teachers are the Oles who teach earth science, astronomy, chemistry and mathematics at Pochemuchka School in O'ville. When she's not reading a book or playing board games, she's exploring and mapping out O'ville with her friends.
She is very competitive but quite absent-minded, so her trusty sidekick, Epo, the ladybug, comes to her rescue more often than Opso would care to admit... that is, if she could actually remember...
Popo Yo is an undercover mathematical and musical genius. When he discovers a new favorite song, he plays it on repeat for weeks, driving his family crazy.
Popo's and Rawr's dedication to righting the wrongs of the world border on superhero-esque. Part of his quest to share trivia is to uncover the unknown and the forgotten. He is always ready with follow-up questions, "Why?" being his favorite.
Popo's best friend is Rawr, a three-legged dinosaur who is his primary confidant, after his brother and sisters, of course. Many ask how Rawr came to have three legs... he was born that way!
Mogo Yo is the youngest of four who loves to dance, eat and cook! She likes to sing too, but only in front of her sidekick, Crumple, her hippo.
Crumple is always grumpy because, like Mogo, he is always hungry. Crumple is Mogo's taste tester but he likes everything she feeds him! Good thing her best friend, Nom Yum, has a tongue that can distinguish the good cupcakes from the great ones!
Nom Yum loves to eat and run but not together! Her best friend is Mogo Yo. The two of them stay eatin', cupcakes mostly. Free likes to run too but mostly likes to eat vegan treats.
Nom's first name is Nombeko but she goes by Nom.
JoJo Yum wants to be a baker and a marathoner like her older sister Nom and their mother who runs in at least ten marathons every year.
Ace Yum is very proud of his yellow belt in karate and always wears his gi.
JoJo and Ace cheer their sister and mother on at every marathon finish line with cupcakes!
Even though Kata Rey thinks she is ready to serve in O'ville's Peace Corps, she has focused her energy on standing out in the student program, Peace Corps Prep.
Kata also volunteers at the Uhmlobo Animal Shelter with her friend Tala.
Zooby Rey (and his twin brother Pow Pow) like to fight but learn there are more important things to fight for from their older sister Kata and their parents.
In addition to fighting, Pow Pow Rey loves to read and act out adventure stories with his twin brother, Zooby.
When Jim Bot Jr. grows up, he wants to run the family business, Duende's Conservation, with his best friend and cousin, La Duende, but La has other plans.
Jim was named after his father but goes by Junior. He likes to work with his hands. One of his specialties is weaving straw hats, a craft he learned from his Nana.
Junior loves comedy but is the worst at telling jokes but that doesn't stop him. One of his favorite teachers is Mx. Tarkus because she is always ready with a knock-knock joke.
Zihao Yi studies many forms of martial arts to learn how to protect others, especially his sisters Kai and Ja.
His heroes are his father, a police officer for the OPD, his mother, a pilot for O'ville's Peace Corps and Bruce Lee.
Kai Yi is good at many things. Not only does Kai join every club at school, she often leads them. Kai likes connecting people whereas her sister, Ja, likes connecting things.
Ja Yi is a collector of many things... paper, rocks, coins, stickers, maps, books and anything related to time.
Ja's sister, Kai, wants her to start a collector's club but Ja prefers to be on her own. Ja spends hours organizing her things and hopes to improve her curatorial skills to one day have a whole room dedicated to her collections at Muze, O'ville's art, culture and history museum. Ja's current obsession is with origami.
Some may call Femi Stuy a bully because she's loud and never holds back, especially when she's investigating a story for the school newspaper, The Weekly Verdad.
Femi has dreams of being a journalist, first in print and then on television.
Aliyah & Laylah Stuy are poets. So far, they've only shared their poetry with their bunny, Pocket. They are nervous about what their sister, Femi, might think of their poems, as they respect her opinion.
Aliyah and Laylah want to publish their first book of poetry with the hopes of seeing it on the bookshelves of Maktaba Library. They also dream of performing their poetry at the Kalpa Performing Arts Center in O'ville.
Sven Ole loves to play soccer so much that he convinced his mother to be his coach. When he's not babysitting his younger brother and sister (Odin and Freya), Sven is practicing soccer in a field at Pochemuchka School, Wei Wu Wei Park or at the indoor soccer field at Zabava Rec Center in O'ville.
Freya Ole and her twin brother Odin, spend most of their time following their big brother, Sven, around.
Odin Ole wants to be a great soccer player and coach like his brother Sven and his mother.
Tala Bass loves animals. She believes that she can convince her parents to let her adopt every stray animal she finds. In the meantime, Tala volunteers with her friend, Kata, at the Umhlobo Animal Shelter in O'ville.
Dot Bass shares her older sister's (Tala) love for animals. Because their parents won't allow Tala to adopt stray animals, Dot and her twin brother, Dooley, act like they are animals to cheer Tala up.
Dooley Bass follows his twin sister's (Dot) lead by pretending to be animals to cheer up their older sister, Tala.
Olana Moon and her sister Lil, sing, dance and play multiple instruments, just like their parents.
Olana's favorite dance class is ballet with Mx. Meraki, O'ville's infamous ballet instructor.
Lil Moon is very shy. She rarely talks and prefers to communicate through her music and dance.
Like her sister, Olana, Lil's favorite dance class is ballet. Lil loves Ms. Meraki, because she never makes her talk, only dance.
La Duende wants to sail around the world, taking a different path each time. Her cousin, Jim Bot Jr. wants her to help him run the family business, Duende's Conservation, when they grow up.
La spends most of her time at Gongoozle Lake, perfecting her sailboat and fishing with her little brother, El.
The O'BABYBOTs share their adventures through a series of comics and picture books. Currently under development are the following stories:
- Recyclin' | A young robot named Yobo Yo receives his first bicycle... a rusty classic given to him by his grandfather as a reward for winning 1st prize in an art contest. As he works to customize his bicycle, Yobo Yo learns a difficult lesson about loss and restoration.
- The Perfect Spot | While teaching his younger sister, Opso Yo, an art lesson, it is Yobo Yo who walks away with the bigger lesson
- Jelly Belly | Mogo Yo learns to conquer her fears by witnessing the bravery of her father, Daddy Yo
- Sno'capades | A valuable lesson is learned when Mogo Yo is accused of bullying
- Daddy's Home | Sisters, Opso Yo and Mogo Yo learn how to save money and the meaning of sacrifice
- Fightin' Words | Zooby & Pow Pow learn how to fight with their words
